When I was a child and first learned how to read and write, it was the only subject in school that I really enjoyed. At a young age my mother would find me staying up past my bedtime to read a book or to write my own stories on the computer. English and literature were always my favorite subjects even throughout college, and in one of my literature courses in college my professor nominated me for a literature composition award. I have loved writing ever since I was a child, however I pursued alternative career paths instead. After the realization that writing is the career path I want to pursue, I worked as a journalist for the local newspaper. I often find myself writing short stories and poems in my personal time. I believe that writing and reading help the mind to escape to alternate worlds where we can find inspiration, hope, and clarity. I have so many more stories to tell and I’d love the opportunity to share these tales with others.
